The Crown Super Coach has found a good home. (michael)

The Crown Super Coach has found a good home. Our 1952 40' CSC Skoolie is now in a good home. Our " Who's Your Phil Guy" Phil and his wife Jane are now the proud owners of ol' #10. Our Phil Guy knows all and is a wise sole. They will do well with this old classic. They plan on fixing her up and go to the craft shows, bike & bus Rallies. We, Christi & I, are glad she has gone to a place that will give her the love and care she needs. For pics see Crown Supercoach. Thursday is the day (michael)

Thursday is the day. Man, there is alot going on Thursday. 8am my good friend Larry Bowers will swing by, pick me up and we're off to tow the 1952 Crown Supercoach Bus to Tombstone. This will be my 3rd attempt at this. The upside is, Larry is the man and I have complete confidence in his abilities. We couldn't start the bus to air up the brakes, so we're going to hook up a gas powered air compressor directly to the air lines. Then, hook up a tow bar and away we go. Top speed 25 mph for about 20 miles. Cross your fingers any way, just in case. Then its off to Benson, AZ to pick up the MCI in the late afternoon and drive it back to Tombstone and it's new home. This one should drive home. It should prove to be a fun-filled day. I will take the camera and get lots of pics. All the Best, Michael & Christi Please Comment Below

You never know who you know! ( michael )

You never know who you know! Feb. 3rd, 09 (see blog) we found ourselves with a 1952 Crown Coach previously converted to an RV, but has since been gutted, and trashed. After all was said and done, the beast is still in dirt road, AZ and so far we have no way to move it. We haven't received a call from the land owner about it, yet. You can see where we're at on this one. All we could think of was to raise the $500 in extortion money the tow truck driver was demanding. And since we are getting the MCI, what are we going to do with it? Well, yesterday, I was in our front yard chatting with our dear friend, Larry Bowers, a fellow Mason and Shriner. He needed to use our car trailer. He asked me when our motor home was to arrive? (see Set Back blog Jan. 28th.) I told him all the pitfalls we were experiencing and got him up to speed. Then, out of the blue he started rattling off a step by step plan that included an elaborate mix of a MIG welder, a gas powered air compressor, and a large truck with a heavy duty tow bar. I said, "The hulka weights 27 thousand pounds!" "Trust me", he says. "We can do this!" I have to tell you, I was impressed with how he put this plan together. I've known and worked with Larry for a few years and he is not one to do things in a haphazard manor. This could work and you can bet I'll be taking some photos. Let's say that all these things come together. Where are we going to put it? The MCI is claiming the prime space next to the house for refit. What will we do with the beast? As it stands right now, Christi & I plan to put the walls back up and clean it as best we can. Basically, we'll do the bare minimum and offer it to someone in need for what we have in it. It's a good thing. Now, where to put it??? Hmmm. Oh, Honey!?! All the Best, Michael & Christi

Coach vs Bus ( michael )

Coach vs Bus I believe one has very few wishes in one's life so, I don't go around wishing for everything I see. My wife on the other hand, thinks that wishes are endless and so she wishes on things all the time. And then there is the fate thing that blows the wish thing out of the water. During the last month or so, I wished for a used, cheap, 40' bus and got it! (read last blog ) But then another wish or fate started kicking in. We received a call from a gentleman in Tucson, AZ that is willing to deal (the payment thing) on a 1987 MCI, wide body Tour Bus. Now that's the wish that I wanted. This bus is perfect for us. We can convert it to suit our needs. It looks great and it is within our comfort zone moneywise. Meanwhile we still have the 40' Crown coach. The Beast that refuses to move from the place it rests. We're still at a loss as to what to do with it. Never the less, we are going forward on the MCI. We just can't pass it up. This Sunday we meet the member of our family. We will post pics of our new child next week and start with the transformation from tour bus to a home. We will not get our hopes up until the new bus sits in the driveway. Yeah right!

Careful what you wish for! (michael)

Careful what you wish for! The ad stated; 1952 Crown Coach previously converted to RV. Hall-Scott 'pumpkin' six-cylinder gas engine needs work. Must be moved from current location by very large wrecker. Would be ideal for metal salvaging, as coach is built like the proverbial "tank"; guessing weight to be 10-13 tons. Found this one on Craig's list. OK, What just happened??? Deep breath, close your eyes, cross your fingers, tap your heels 3 times and make a wish. Wait! Lets go over this again. Search the web, find an ad, 6 e-mails, 1 phone call, 30 min. in the suv, a map, a greeting, a hand shake and we find ourselves in the middle of nowhere AZ in cloud of dust and a title with the former owner yelling "good luck" as he speeds out of site. Hey, I wished for an affordable, older, 40 ft. bus. I guess one has to be specific when one wishes. Well, it won't start, "didn't see that coming". I called " the big tow truck guy" and made a deal to tow the Hulka to tombstone for $200. When he got there, he changed the agreement to the tune of $500. We sent the *%X^#.. liar down the road. Now were stuck. What ever happened to when one gives their word in a deal? People like that should be stripped of all they have to teach them a lesson. O, I could go on!!! Deep breath, close your eyes, cross your fingers, tap your heels 3 times. Wait for it, wait for it, Nothing... We'll keep you posted.
